    Hair Loss Due To Menopause

The facts on hair loss due to menopause that every woman should know about.

Hair loss treatments and other thinning hair remedies all have "for men" authored all over them. TV ads express men with balding spots being tried on with miracle products. And then voila! The hair became thicker and longer in a wink of an eye. Basically the bulk hair loss issues are geared towards men. And it's not just because skin head is an "in" thing, or because Billy Zane seems to sport the look. Men simply have the pronness to go completely bald. However, women are not spared from hair loss issues. It is a fact that about two thirds of women actually go via hair loss due to menopause.

Hair loss in women happens more often than is actually perceived. However the extent of hair loss in women is not as pronounced as those in men. Balding spots are not seen in women as they are in men, because their hair loss has mostly a thinning effect. Women's hair loss due to menopause is not even made clear up to now as to its real causes. Even the impact of estrogen in women's hair hasn't been fully understood. However, there are estrogen medications being prescribed by doctors as treatment for hair loss during menopause. There are myths surrounding hair loss due to menopause some of which are as follows:

Myth 1: Hair loss problem is inherited from one's father.
This is partly true. Hair loss like Androgenetic Aplopecia is hereditary-type. However, not just the father is responsible for your inheritance. The genes of both parents are a factor.

Myth 2: Women's hair loss due to menopause outcomes in abnormal bleeding.
Not true. Hair loss does not in any technique affect menstruation.

Myth 3: Washing hair too often can cause hair loss.
Definitely not. Hair loss is not a result of a common hair care practice.

Myth 4: Poor scalp circulation and blocked hair follicles are causes of hair loss.
People have been pointing fingers on these factors as the real culprits to hair loss. However, this is no more than a publicity by those selling hair loss remedies.

Pattern hair loss due to menopause happens to many of women than others might think. Experts have linked this to the decline of estrogen production in the body. It is also said that estrogen supposedly protects us from the testosterone and a particular enzyme inside our body which are responsible in the pattern baldness in women.

Hair loss due to menopause is another addition to the a lot changes that a woman has to deal with. However, consulting your doctor about your troubles may make you more accepting of menopause and all the challenges it brings.
